As the day was hot those who could not go in bathing went in wading where the water was shallow. After the dip in the lake, a camp fire was built. “Hot dogs” were roasted over the flames and eaten with rolls. Cakes, sandwiches and pickles were to be had in abundance. Finally the joUy erowd departed for home, determined to come again in the early spring. Chaperones for the occasion were Misses Annie Beam, Flossie Stout, Carrie Stout and Mr. Edgar Woods. Sergeant (drilling awkward squad) — “Company! Attention company, lift up your left leg and hold it straight out in front of you I ’ ’ One of the squad held up his right leg by mistake. This brought his right-hand companion’s left leg and his own right leg close together. The officer, seeing this, exclaithed angrily, “ And who is that fellow over thgre„,liolding up Iboth legs?”—^Chicago News.
