The purple whirlwind tennhs squad
will meet Hanes high school of Win
ston-Salem in the second match of the
s(*ason. April 7, with another contest
scheduled for April 22.
A total of 10 opponents will oppose
the local team in a schedule which
calls for eight home matches and eight
away.
High .spot is the state high school
tennis tournament at Chapel Hill,
April 17 and 18. For this event
Dreensboro will prolmbly send three
team members, a singles player and a
doubles team.

last year’s defeat when their first and
second teams defeated Reynolds high
in Winston, March 28, by scones of
13 to 5 and 17 1-2 to 1-2.
Roger McManus, varsity letterman,
was low scorer with an 81. Other var
sity men were Ernest JIcLeaii, Ray
'i'aylor, and Glenn McCall.
