NAACP Membership Radiothon Viewed
As Success
The stars came out for
the NAACP Third
Membership Radiothon,
which was held on
September 22, 1990.
Well over 500 radio
stations, in every part of
the country broad
casted the event. A
dazzling array of celebri
ties and exciting enter
tainers took time from
their busy schedule to
help boost the mem
bership of the nations
oldest and largest civil
right organization.
ABC Radio Network,
in New York City, in Los
Angeles, California
broadcasted the three
hour annual event.
Cooperating radio net
works included: Gannett
Broadcasting, National
Black Network, United
Press International and
Sheridan Broadcasting
Network.
