AC Phoenix, October 1990, Page 27 NAACP Membership Radiothon Viewed As Success The stars came out for the NAACP Third Membership Radiothon, which was held on September 22, 1990. Well over 500 radio stations, in every part of the country broad casted the event. A dazzling array of celebri ties and exciting enter tainers took time from their busy schedule to help boost the mem bership of the nations oldest and largest civil right organization. ABC Radio Network, in New York City, in Los Angeles, California broadcasted the three hour annual event. Cooperating radio net works included: Gannett Broadcasting, National Black Network, United Press International and Sheridan Broadcasting Network. The stars and enter tainment included the likes of Jeff Gripper, Hank Aaron, John Home 724-7071 NAACP Membership Radiothon Kick-off Spotiights Winners Maurice Bridges, Hardee's official, presents awards to Lenny Springs, South Carolina State Conference, and Rev. William King, president of Camderi, N.J. NAACP branch. The presentation was made at the 1990 Membership Radiothon Kick-off Luncheon recently. The Radiothon was broadcasted on September 22, 1990. More than 1000 branches conducted membership radiothons in their communities on the same day.
