Mrs. Dobson-Powell is a senior

and is a daughter of Peggy W.
Spencer of Winston-Salem.
Pat C. Johnson has been elected
vice president at Wachovia Bank of
North Carolina, N.A. She is branch
manager of the Thruway office.
Mrs. Johnson is a native of
Mount Airy and a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Strickland Jr. of
Mt. Airy. She is married to Norman
E. Johnson of Winston-Salem.

William C. Scales has been
elected senior vice president at
Wachovia Operational Services
Corporation in Winston-Salem. He
is manager of information services
support.
Scales joined Wachovia in 1977
and has held a number of
management positions in the
operations division, including
manager of information processing,
manager of student financial
systems, and group manager for
corporations systems. He was
elected vice president in 1983 and
assumed his current position earlier
this year.
He is a native of Winston-Salem
and has a bachelor’s degree in
business administration from
Livingstone College. He is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Scales of
Winston-Salem. His wife, the
former Shelma Ledbetter, also is a
native of Winston-Salem, and they
have two sons.
