Later, that evening, “Sisters,” a dramatic presentation about the en counter of two strangers who are stranded in an office during a bliz zard, will be presented by Jomandi Fh-oductions Inc. Faculty, staff and students all come together for a week of talent contests, fashion shows and art exhibitions during University Week, April 6-10. Works by well-known artist Jacob Lawrence go on exhibit in the Diggs Gallery on April 21. The university observes its 100th Commencement on May 2. The invited speaker is the Honorable Douglas Wilder, Governor of Virginia. A third art exhibition, “Imp rovisation in the Found Object in the Work of African-American Visionary Artist,”^ opens in the Diggs Gallery on September 21, 1992. Homecoming ‘92 will be ob served September 23-27, with a Centennial Gala and Dinner being held on September 25 - three days shy of the university’s actual founding. The closing centennial event in cludes placement of a time capsule and a flag-lowering ceremony. Today, Winston-Salem State University is one of 16 constituent members of The University of North Carolina and one of five his- torically-black UNC schools. It of fers more than 30 bachelor’s de^ee programs, among them education, business, accounting, economics, computer science and nursing. Masters degrees are offered through the university’s Graduate Center in cooperation with other UNC cam puses.
