Page 2 February 1999 The AC Phpeni)^ ,, A Look at the Master Mason continued from front page You see this word is so simple that even a fool can not err in it. It’s very simple. Master masons when you were received on that lovely night, both points of the compasses were given to you and they told you that the heart and vitals were between the breast and consequently, in pre masonry the most vital tenants were contained, symbolizing the three vital tenants of friendship, morality and brotherly love. You didn’t come into Church on your own. Somebody invited you, somebody was talking about the service, somebody was talk ing about the sermon, somebody was talking about the singing and you said “I’ll believe I’ll go see what’s to it”. Then you get in here and you get it firsthand and you see whether you know it or not. Those of you that don’t belong to the mason family, when you look at the shape of the Church you also look at the shape of the lodge. You see - both are built on the pattern of the tabernacle in the wilderness when Moses and Aaron went before God and that pattern did not come out of the air, God had already created that pattern. He says I’m going to give you a stomach where all food will go and told the church I’m going to give you a vestibule where all people come in. Then he says I’m going to give you a chest where there is a heart that pumps blood throughout the body. In the Church they call it a sanctuary and then I’m going to give you a Holy of Holies and I don’t want you coming in there until I send for you. They call that the pulpit area. He said then I’m going to give you the three attributes of myself and I want three principle officers in the lodge and then I want three principle chairs in the pulpit. Yall don’t hear me. I’m going to get to the text in a minute he said behind the worshipful master in the east I don’t want a door. But there is a door; it’s called a the cross. Now the cross is a peculiar symbol. You see, Hitler, during World War II, and prior to that war he wanted to ingra tiate himself with the masons of Germany so he adopted the swastika as one of his main emblems. What he didn't know, was a sign or a symbol ain’t nothing like the real thing. While he was trying to ingratiate himself with the masons he lost the meaning of the swastika. You see, the swastika is made like this cross in a different arrangement. They repre sent four squares that represent four virtues. You remember when the woman touched Jesus and he said, “virtue has gone out of me”. You see, Jesus walked upright by the plum, he traveled on the left and he parted on the square, but in between as he approached his 33rd birthday he thought about, I imagine in my own mind, man cannot be like coffee, you pour water on it and instantly it is ready to drink. It’s a lifelong process. So by the inspiration of God the Masonic degrees were given from 1 through 31. Now one is a symbol of God. There was a cry that said “Hear O Ye Israel, the Lord God , He is One. And then the Arab, he hollows “God is One” and then when he got ready for his holy city, he named it Augustine DeLeon Bible Institute Willie B. Harbor Bible Institute Marva W. The Jews say Siloam, the Arabs say Salaam. We say Salem as in Winston-Salem. We are all looking for that New Jerusalem to come down from heaven lead by a resurrected and ascended Christ. That’s what we’re looking for. So you see master masons you wear an apron not because you are of a feminine nature, but you’re only following the old ways. When Adam and Eve came into the knowledge of good and evil they made aprons of fig leaves. They didn’t cover their eyes; they didn’t cover their ears. They didn’t cover their breast, but they covered the fountain of life. You see man is trying to clone people right now. He started out with a sheep and then had to con fess that it was a lie. Said that that sheep did not actual come from the other sheep through cloning. Then a few days ago we read where Thomas Jefferson’s DNA was read. You know I don’t know of any white man named Jefferson today. Somebody said do it to George Washington. I don’t want to be digging up dead folks. It’s going to be embarrassing to some, because I know how my daddy felt when my brother was born, red headed, freck led face and look at me. I got one freckle and it’s all over. So master masons wore an apron of shame and then as God started revealing himself to his people, he wanted a spokesman to come before him. So he told Moses to outfit his brother Aaron and the last thing I want you to put on him royal ark masons, is an eprod which is a girdle about his loins. While Adams and Eve whore aprons of shame now Aaron is wearing an apron of sacrifice. And then as the Bible goes on and gets into the New Testament we read about a man name John coming out of the wilder ness. And you shriners, he wasn’t rid ing a camel, he was wear ing one. Said that his cloth ing was camel hair with a leather gir dle about his loins and that was an apron of repentance. When those old saints hanging around there (false saints I call them) said they didn’t need to repent or be baptized because Abraham was their father. Too often we want to take credit from our mama, grand mama, granddaddy or daddy, but one thing about Christianity, it’s like a number three 'tub, every tub has got to sit on it’s own bottom. Now we skip over to John 13, where Jesus himself took on the mantle of a mason to let us know what we are suppose to do as Grand Masters, Deputy Grand Masters, continued on page 22 Rev. Samuel J.
