It’s sooooo amazing how much
we in the Body of Christ continue
to major on the minors. When one
considers the amount of energy
and time spent on our concentrated
efforts of austerity. As time contin
ues to be the chief custodian to the
overall plan and destiny of God, so
much hinges upon our willingness
to yield to the Master’s sovereign
plan.
The greatest battle of the enemy
is to war and contend for our
self-willed ambitions. When we
bow our will to His will, we find in
that place of surrendered serenity,
the Master skillfully orchestrates
our lives into His Master plan.

That was the theme of the 114th
Session of the Western North
Carolina Conference of the African
Methodist Episcopal Church. The
theme is a testament to the quest
of the presiding prelate. Bishop
Cecil C. Bishop. After 25 years of
service as Bishop, in August, the
man affectionately known as the
“The Bishop” will retire as bishop
of the Piedmont Episcopal District.
This year’s conference was hosted
by the Goler Metropolitan A.M.E.
