If there has ever been a need for
rethinking the way we do foreign
and local missions, it is now! Our
changing world has placed a
demand to develop apostolic
strategies to impact nations. We
have approached a new era and
we can no longer expect to do
colonialistic missions with our
imperialistic Anglo mindset and
accomplish our tasks. Missions
for the new millennium is our
greatest need, coupling practical

50TH HIGH
SCHOOL
REUNION

Members of the Atkins High
School Class of 1954 are busily
preparing to celebrate the fifti
eth anniversary of their gradua
tion. Festivities will take place
on August 6 through 8 with
headquarters at the Holiday Inn
Select on University Parkway.
This reunion is especially impor
tant as a milestone, but it will
have an added dimension in
that it will provide an opportuni
ty for the class to celebrate
the life of Mr. Harry Dubois
Wheeler, the beloved and
revered music teacher who
touched in some way the life of
each Atkins High student.
Over sixty classmates and
ministry with the supernatural and
establishing both with the very
essence of accountability and
integrity. Empowerment is one of
the greatest needs in developing
nations.
For the past century, a great
emphasis was placed on an evan
gelistic thrust of ministry. The
reformation of church, government
and infrastructure are of a greater
need today.
Refusing to shift our paradigm
from the traditions of our forefa
thers could prove to be quite cru
cial for our multilcomplexed
world. The 21st century met us
with challenges that no other age
has faced. This is a demand age
of technology and knowledge, yet
the darkest ignorance still remains
as it pertains to AIDS awareness,
understanding of cultural
diversities and ethno linguistic
groups. *
We have governmental leaders
that expect us to believe that the
search for weapons of mass

former outstanding athletes.
