Emotions ran high at Tim Thomas ’funeral.
Winston-Salem’s small business and religious
community folk turned out on September 25th to say
goodbye to one of their own. At the service of triumph
of Winston-Salem’s businessman, speakers remembered
him as a feisty enterprenuer, great public servant,
warrior for Christ, visionary church worker, fearless
athlete and a loyal friend.
Thomas, 50, died September 21 st from complications
after surgery. He was the chief financial officer and
steward of Ambassador Cathedral, a businessman and
CEO of Thomas & Associates, and board member of
the Triad Postal Credit Union Association. At his death,
he was in his 27th year of a faithful and dedicated
member of Ambassador Cathedral.
Wearing Carolina Blue, the color of his University of
North Carolina to begin the celebration of his home
going on Friday night, Thomas was laid to rest in his
Deacon White.
Bishop F. D. Patterson said, “To Tim, life was like a
marathon. He finished his race.” His first spiritual
mentor, chaplain Edwards said, “Tim believed in
accepting a challenge. Fife to him was to overcome any
change.
Tim Thomas is survived by his wife, Travistine Smith
Thomas, a daughter, Tamara Camillia Thomas of New
York City, his mother and step-father, father, a brother
and three sisters, four aunts and an uncle.

There were so many well rdshers that the Friday home going service was extended.
