Failure On Both Parents
And Teachers To Perform
Duties Hurts Youth
Letter To The Editor:
The youth’s failure in school can be attributed to both parents
and teachers. Parents have a responsibility to support and encour
age students throughout their educational experiences. At-home
parents should demonstrate an interest in every aspect of their
child’s education. Parents should teach and train their children at
home, so that when they attend school they are prepared for the
learning environment. They should be trained at home to have
good behavior so that their teachers can teach them. Parents
should have a willing attitude to work with teachers to help educate
their child.
As far as teachers are concerned, they have a responsibility to
teach and encourage the youth. They should have an open and
honest communication with parents and make every effort not to
discourage the youth, but keep them motivated about learning. The
Honorable Louis Farrakhan warned us about how many teachers
discourage the male child. The failure of the youth in school is the
result of the parent and teacher not performing their duties in the
education process.
