The AC Phoenix January 2006 Page 7 “BRINGING IN A NEW SEASON OE DESTINY” Continued from Page I attempting to change the climate of the Lexington-Davidson County area by empowering our young people to change the economy in the future. We are also striving to bridge the gap between churches and ministers of different ethnic backgrounds by collaborating against the negatives in society that affect us all. I am happy and pleased with the progress made in the last year and looking forward with great anticipation of continued progress under the leadership of the incoming president for 2006, Rev. Bernard Adams. Rev. Bernard Adams is the pastor of Salem Baptist Church and a charter member of the conference. He will be taking hold of the reigns for the upcoming year. Rev. Adams holds a BA Degree in History and Sociology from Winston-Salem State University, a Master of Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School, and is a licensed teacher in the state of North Carolina. Adams says, “My endeavor is to build upon the progress the conference has already made, while finding a way to draw the ministers and the Lexington community closer while we strive to move forward.” The Lexington Minister’s Conference is a young organization, but on the move. The members are dedicated to finding a way to make the Lexington-Davidson County community a better place. If you live in the Lexington-Davidson County area and desire to be a part of the conference, cail Rev. Bernard Adams @ 336-926-3333. The conference meets every second Saturday at Salem Baptist Church from 10:30-12:00 Noon. “Behoid, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dweli together in unity!” Herbert Miller II “He dreamed for the black youth of this country... He dreamed for the poor of this country... He dreamed for the peace of his people in this country, and abroad. Yet in 1998 his whole life has been reduced to four words, ‘I HAVE A DREAM.” • Ads must be prepaid • Name, address and phone number must be included Inappropriate ads not accepted Let a favorite person in your life know you are thinking about them.
