The AC Phoenix March 2006 Page 43 My Answer Ms. K, My husband and I took a trip along with my mother-in-law. We had to drive around 60 miles to get where we were going. After we got packed we went to pick her up and helped her get loaded. Guess what? She tells me to sit in the back because her son talks so low she cannot hear him if she sits in the back. Ms K, I went off. I told her she either sits in the back or she does not go. So she sits in the back and the whole time she did not say a word, neither did my husband, only when I said something to him. Nothing else was said about this until we got back home, let her out and hell broke loose. My husband told me not to ever talk to his mom again like that and I must apologize to her and next time we take her some place, I will sit in the back or I will not be allowed to go. What do you think of this mess? Thank you Cindy Cindy, You are not going to like this but “You were wrong.” There would not have been anything wrong with her sitting in the front with her son even though he is your husband. Maybe she doesn’t get to see her son very often and you are with him all the time. You should have respected her wish, sat in the back and enjoyed yourself seeing them together. It was very selfish of you. People talk about their in-laws as being terrible people, but we never know when we might need them for babysitting or other things. She is your hus band’s mother. He loves her and sitting in the back was just a small favor you could have done and it would have meant so much to your husband. To be honest with you, whatever this may mean to you, “I personally don’t like selfish or sarcastic people. There’s nothing to gain by being a person of this kind. This is my answer.” Thanks Cindy Write to Ms K- My Answer RO.
