WE GO THE WHOLE 9 YARDS PHOENIX HOUSING with Families that Care 995-0677 Letter To The Editor Dear Friends, i grew up in Kernersviiie, attending East Forsyth and subsequently obtaining a degree in Criminal Justice. Law Enforcement has been part of my life for over 30 years. I grew up watching my family rise through the ranks with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s office. My younger brother was a Law Enforcement Office for over 19 years. I rose through the ranks and eventually was promoted to Chief of Police. In 2000,1 opted to change my career path and enter the business world. I gained a wealth of knowledge about the aspects of running a major company. I have always loved help ing others. I believe in treating others with respect. With a strong passion for Law Enforcement and the experience I have gained in the business world, I feel that I would have a great deal to offer the citizens of Forsyth County as Sheriff. I also gained valuable experience while serving for the State of North Carolina on the Public Safety and Transportation Board and my department received National Recognition in Community Policing when I was Police Chief. As Sheriff, I would like to see more programs added to benefit our young people, senior citizens, and victims of crimes bringing the communities closer together. I want our School Resource Officers to be dedicated to all students no matter the race or gender. I want to divide the county up into four sectors, assigning Deputies to those sectors to improve response time to calls. I also want to implement promotional testing to give the employees a fair chance to be promoted and do away with the buddy system. Under the current administration, there is only one high ranking minority officer. Improvements are of a top priority in this area. My mission would be “To safeguard lives and property; respectfully enforce the laws of the land and work cooperatively to lessen the impact of crime on the lives of residents and visitors to Forsyth County.” I believe that the Sheriff’s office belongs to the citizens of Forsyth County and it is time that the Sheriff’s office gives back to the citizens, more programs, education and professionalism that each one deserves. I ask for your support and vote on November 7, 2006.
