The grass is getting greener and the jonquils and hya cinths are beginning to bloom. Every one is “coming out” in their spring clothes, including Eleanor Alexander, Mary Currie, Caroline Reynolds in their “ice creami'” suits and Sara Durant, Lucy Williams, Jane Davis, and Nancy Sauer just looking fresh and springy. Just before initiation the old mem bers of the sororities gave the pledges one last work-out—a complete house cleaning. Passing along sorority row one could see Alice Barrow diligently raking leaves in the Kappa Delta yard and Judith Killian and Jean Ferguson artistically washing the Chi Omega windows. Of course I went no farther down the row be cause next was the “Y” store, where one just has to stop. Tliis could easily be titled “The Most Popular Spot on Campus.” The most faithful lielpers of the store are Helen Jen kins and Callie McElroy. The best radio program presented yet was the one on Wednesday after noon. Dean Godard made a tour through the practice rooms of the Music Building and gave the out side world a taste of what goes on in the backstage of a musician’s life. Heard on this program were Frances Riddle, Jean Stough, and Eleanor Alexander, tuning up their vocal chords; Dot Carson and Mrs. Mosely, at the piano; Vera Boulware and Marie Roseman, our two talented violinists; and Josephine Hackney })laying the newly made-over organ. Don’t tell anybody, but it’s rumored that Peggie Williams has gotten some very grey hairs over this “Freshman Issue.” Always interesting are the classes SIS'.? Wednesday morning in chapel we had a lovely surprise. A popular song program. Katherine Raeford played the piano and the whole stu dent body sang. We really did have fun. Those dignified ?? juniors just hung their feet over the balcony railing and made a perfect candid camera picture but no one had a kodak. Any time’s a good time to come; one of the best, and it’s much favored, is after the theatre, any evening.
