Julia Upchurch made a pretty picture as a bridesmaid in Gloria I Sprock’s wedding several weeks ‘igo. Julia is looking forward to being married next fall. She has served as a fresh man class officer, and she became a member of Chi Omega sorority. Betty was elected treasurer of Boarding Student Government and a member to Legislature during spring elections. Doris Searcy is a boarding stu dent who comes to Queens from Valdese, North Carolina. She was elected freshman representative to boarding student council, and will serve as treasurer of Student Gov ernment' Ihe next year. Doris is a member of Alpha Gam ma Delta Sorority. Caroline Upshur is also a Board ing Student, who is from Sumter, South Carolina. Caroline is been an oustanding leader in the fresh man class, and she has been very active in the work of the student Christian association. Born in Salem, West Virginia, Mr. Randolph was graduated from Salem College, and holds honorary degrees of Doctor of Laws, Davis and Elkins College; Doctor of Let ters, Southeastern University; Doc tor of Aeronautical Science, Sal em. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Salem and Davis and Elkins, where at the latter he headed for six years the Depart ment of Speech and Journalism. Mr. Randolph was for the past three years chairman of the World Trade Committee of the Washing ton (D. C.) Board of Trade. He is a director of the National Aero nautic Association, the American Federation of the Physically Hand icapped, the Boy Scouts of Ameri ca, the National Society for the Blind, and is president of the Air port Division, and treasure of the American Road Builders Associa tion.
