carried on by the local N.F.A.
chapter in their effort to develop
leadership, improve local and |
state conditions, and to bring;
happiness to some one during the
coming Christmas season. These
children being the fatherless and ,
motherless offer a great chal- i

wide one among N.F.A. members.
Each member of the organiza

$2.00 to the drive. The boy turn

assumed responsibility will be
given an all expense paid trip to
the state N.F.A. convention in

The group followed up their
visit to the Health Department by
inviting in for interview Mrs.
Edith Brocker, Supervisor of
Nurses, and Mr. Joseph H. Huff,
Health Educator for the District
Health Association, which in
cludes the Chapel Hill area.
During the interview, the stu
dents learned many facts about
the advances in the knowledge of
tuberculosis and its control since
1914. Too, they were told much
that the school and the commu

Mock Election Held
The 7th B class had a mock
election to elect the president and
vice president of the United
States at the same time that
citizens throughout America were
voting.
We registered two Mondays,
October 20, and October 27. The
pupils who were absent at the
time we registered were not al
lowed to vote on November 4. We
elected the democratic parties,
Adlai Stevenson and John Spark
man for the president and vice
president. We are sorry that our
candidates did not win in the
real election.
