Lee County Seeks to Organize Chamber (Social to Tehf Star) SANFORD, Jan. 11.—Dan Hollenga, former secretary of .the chamber of commerce at Fayetteville and Hamlet and national lecturer of .the American legion, addressed a big mass meeting of Sanfdrd and Lee eounty citizens in 'the city ball Tuesday night in the in terest of organizing.a chamber of .com merce for Lee. county. Mr. Hollenga, a native Dutchman, who; speaks.fluently many different languages,, is a very forceful speaKeT and aroused hulte: a olt of enthusiasm. Tuesday night. Mayor W. H.. After explaining fully the purposes and plan 'of organization ot n chamber of commerce, the following active- eoUctttng committee was ap pointed to secure "members on the na ional plan of organization: T. S. ,'ross, W. G. Brown. J. R. Ingram, J. p„. Rives, J. Josephs. To co-operate with this committee from Sanford, a committee was appointed from each of the following towns in Lee county: Jonesboro, Cumnock, Carbonton, Lemon springs and Broadway.
