La. — The Oil lard Universitv Players Guild com pleted its selection cf lour piays for the 1945-46 season it was an nounced last week by Randolph Ed monds, Head of the Drama Depart* ment. The plays to be produced are af follows: “Brief Candle." a nostalgic tomedy of New England, by Robert Hare Powell on N-vember 9. lO. ‘•Blithe Spirit." a comedy of fan tasy by Noel Coward on Decembei 14, 15; "Earth and Stars." a drama of Negro leadership during the re converrion period, by Randloph Ed monds on February L5, 16: and "Ladles in Wailing." a mystery melodrama by Cyril Campion. Mr. Edmonds will direct two of these plays and Mr. John M. Ross. Associate Professor of Drama will direct the other two. In addition to these four plays, the Guild is planning an exchange production w'lth a nearby college, tours into Alabama and Texas, an,’ the annual presentation of the Louisiana High School Drama Tour- ruimcnt.
