RALEIGH I have been trying to refrain from men
ioning the terrific heat we’ve all been suffering under
he past several days for they say the less you think
bout how hot it is, the less you’ll notice it. But what
te’vfr been having must be something of a record for
lose parts which upsets all revious ones. And although
here isn't much any of us can do about, it in spite of ail
ur talk, we can get a bit of consolation from th<* fact
hat one isn’t alone in his suffering.
News has come to me. that several Raleighitea have
rone to nearby beaches for respite from these top ther
nomter readings, if you have nr>de such a trip, give me
i ring. I’d like to pass the information on to others in
mswer to a number of inquiries about the best places
o go.

Gracious Mrs. Whaley says i
