Anniversary Speaker Rev. O. B. Burson. He spoke from Mathew 28:18-20. Ho said in the 18th verse a claim was made by Jesus. The 19th verse a command was given. The 20th verse a covenant, Judas betrayed Christ with a kiss. The ministers of today have sim ilar experiences. They are betrayed by those who seem to be close to them. A lot of times all the minis : tors have to go on is. the portion of the 28th verse which reads. All power is given unto me in heaven and ;n earth. It. is not easy for the minister ail the time but God opens up new avenues. H» has raid: “I will be with you when he is with you, you can walk through water and it wont .hurt you, you can walk throuhg fire and it won’t burn. He has promised, Lo I am I wi-h you always, even unto the ! end of the world, Rev. Burson j clossd his message by saying, this ! service- today will add ten years Ito the- pastor’s service. Sunday, Goldsboro’s Easter wor shippers initiated a clay of church going which saw local churches over flowing for the regular fore noon services. Here is the round-up fro m some of the city’s .leading church es. St. James AME Zion church, i West Elm Street; Sunrise .ser vices at 5:30 am. with the mes sage delivered by the pastor Dr. i E. B. Lipsey. Music was by choir; number one, Win. Reinhardt, President. A packed house for the 11:00 Service waited for the message delivered by the Pastor, on "The Ressurection of Christ", Beauti ful music was rendered by the choir among which was the “Hal lelujah Chorus" by Handel, under the direction of Dr. O. Jackson. $776.00 was raised toward the elimination of church indebted ness. The Sunday School children in their lovely Piaster attire depicted j the Ressurection in recitations j land songs at the 7.30 p.m. eve-j nine service.
