PAGE TWELVE Angler News BY MRS. POLLY C. STOKES ANGLER—Sunday was quarterly meeting day at Williams Chapel. The services were well attended. Services began by the choir sing ing My Hope is Built. Scripture lesson was read by the presiding elder. Rev. T J. Young. St. Luke 17:20-30. 18-1, al'terwhieh the choir sang Guide Me Oh Thou Great Jehovah. The sermon was delivered by the presiding eider. His text: Not to faint taken from the scripture Pt. Luke 18:1. He emphasized that the kingdom of God ccmeth not by observation. The kingdom of God is within you. As it was in the days of Noah so it will be with you. The son of man is coming back. Men ought, always to pray, not to faint. Don’t faint or give up in faith, confidence, hope, charity, work tribulations, well doings, chasten ings and rebukes. God will deliver us. He brought the sermon to a close by singing Just Keep on Praying. This was a very powerful message. The Holy Communion was administered by the presid ing elder ana the pastor, Rev. A. B, Massey. I Louisburg Happenings BY MRS, ALVIN WILLIAMS Church Activities LOUISBURG--A bout one hun dred and fifty youngsters enjoyed Daily Vacation Bible School, which was held at the Mitchell Chapel Baptist Church July 15- 18 The instructors were Mr. Arthur Williams. Mrs. P. H. Foster. Mrs. Mabel Davis and Mrs. Mary L. Williams. The story tellers for the classes were Mrs. Della Kear ney, Miss Lelia B. Fioyd. Mrs. Bertha Milon and Mrs. Sarah J. Jones, Story teller for the group was Miss Jean Jones. Revival service was held at the Mitchell Chapel Baptist, Church i July 21-26 with the Rev. M. T Neal of Atlantic City, N. J. as guest minister. This was a great revival. The minister preached a. powerful sermon at each service. ’Dais was evidenced by r spirit filled church and 31 souls were saved. Miss Milleceson Rod well, a member of the Mitchell Chapel Baptist Church, won third place in the oratorical contest in the State Ushers’ Convention which was held at the White Oak Bap tist Church in Greensboro. The group, which has organized only recently, is made up of Hen ry Ezell, firt tenor: Vernon Griggs, second tenor; Robert Wallace, bari tone: W. P. Malone and Andrew Kerns, second bass.
