check desks. The five teller spaces across one side of the main floor have counters with colorful leather j
panels on the front, and formica tops to match the walnut paneled walls in the open office at the
end, The mezzanine, directly above the teller counters and overlooking the public space, has a front
rail of Blumcraft aluminum wiih obscure triass panels. District offices of the N. C. Mutual Life Insur
ance Company are also housed in the new structure.

Miss June L. Preene of Spring
field. and Miss Rose C. Thomas,
!of Cincinnati, two Negro young
women from Ohio, are among the
35 young men and women who
will go overseas next Fail as spec
ial term missionaries of the Meth
odist Church. They will serve
three years each.
Miss Greene will go to the Bel
gian Congo for religious educa
tional work and Miss Thomas to
Angola, Africa for educational
work.
In preparation for mission
ary service the group began
June 'f3 a six-week orientation
program at Scarvitt College for
Christian Workers, Nashville,
Tenn. The training, designed
to introduce the young persons
to the missionary vocation,
teaches the fundamentals of
Christian theology, and in
forms them about the parts
of the world to which they
will go.
After finishing training August,
i 3. the young missionaries will leave.
