Did not. know that I had so many readers until I discontinued our column. I guess that there is no other way than to write every week. We will try our best to keep you abreast of some of the things that hap pen here in the Queen City. Report From Rev. Michael The Rev. E. R Michael, pastor of the Little Rock AME Zion Church, says in a report from La ; chute United Church, Lachute [Quebec, Canada, that it has been 1 wonderful. The noted minister | went on to say that upon his ar- I rival on the second of this month. 1 : he was met by a group of elders |of the church, their wives ar.d [ children. After meeting this won derful, group Rev. Michael said ; that the keys to the parsonage and the church were turned over to him and Mi's. Michael, i Rev. Michael also said to his ; report that on Saturday morning j after meeting such a large crowd of the church, he was declared | | she pastor for the month of Au ; gust. He said that there were pho ; tographers and reporters that i spent the full day with them. The | reporters have been with them j every day since they have been i there, the Rev. Michael said. He also said that photographers have taken nearly 400 pictures. These pictures have been or will be seen in the I,a. chute "Watchman”, “Montreal Star,” “London, Eng land Times’, “Toronto Star”, “Eb ony.” “Time,” “Life” as well as many other newspapers. The Rev. Michael also stated , that his engagements were as fol -1 lows: A lecture in the church in i Laclmte: an address before the [ Rotary Club of Brownsburgh; & Missionary Society in Cushing; a radio station in Montreal; and a ] radio station in Toronto. He went] on to say that last Sunday he was a guest preacher in the oldest. Eng lish speaking French Protestant church in Quebec, “This has been a wonderful ex perience,” he said. We have had many dinners and teas We have not had too much time to rest, but we have enjoyed every minute of it. He said that his family wr.s the only colored people in La chute, and many of the young people hadn’t ever seen colored people before Mrs. Michael has been a draw ing card with her singing, he said, and was asked to sing wherever we go.
