By MRS. ANNIE H. THORPE
It was a very inclement day last
Sunday, but we can truthfully
boast of fine tervicos at the 11-o
--clock hour.
The choir* led out with the sing
ing of “God of Our Fathers.” Our
Ist hymn, No. ,378. “Walk in the
Light," wsi sung lively by our
pastor, Rev. W. D. Carson. The
responsive rending was for the 3Rth
Sunday. “God Strengthens the
Heart." Scripture lesson was then
read by our pastor from the 3<h
Chapter of Ephesians, comprising
20 verses.
The *oul-st.irr!ng prayer was of
fered by Rsv. F. L Tipon, former
pastor of on: Church and of Dur
ham. Our 2nd hyman, No 379 “1
Love thy Kingdom Lord was
sung, while the congregation de
voutly meditated.
After the sermnnette to the Jun
ior Church in which they are con
tinually talking about the 23rd
Paalm, the minister chose his text
from the same scripture read,
Ephesians 5:14 “Wherefore he
saith, Awoke thou that slcepest.
and arise from the dead And
Chiirt will give thee fight."
The minister began by saying
that Paul was preparing them for
a wedding when he said to awake,
and to arise. The reward ot which
was that God Would give them
light. This was indeed a real gos
pel message.
We invite you to come and wor
ship with us.
