ing room was wearing the true
spirit of Christmas, with the tree
beautifully decorated and laden
with gifts.
At this meeting it was a ga
la affair for it was our annual
Christmas party where each
member exchanges gifts, and
the celebration of Mrs. Ruth
Lawrence's birthday and also
Mrs. Emma Jones’ birthday.
After showering them with
gifts and singing “Happy birth*
clay” to them, the members
played po-kcena.
Mrs. Mrry Marable was award
ed the prize for high score and
Mrs. Tiovey Ellis second prize.
Each member of the club brought
a garment to be distributed to a
needy family and a toy to be given
to SI Agnes Hospital.

the Ball. Soror Latham read the re

tion of the Bail. We appreciate the
patronage of the public and we
are hoping to smooth out the rough
edges next year.
The sorority donated $58.50 to
Joseph Holt, Jr , legal fund. The
Sorority is increasing its scholar
ship fund, and is adding to its lo
cal budget .including the Y.W.C.A.
and Tuttle Center.

The Friendly Neighbors’ Club
met. Sunday, December 8, at the
home of Miss Vivian Burt, 421 Als

president, presiding. After the
business session the club members
celebrated Miss Vivian Burt’s bir
thday. She received many nice and
useful gifts. A delicious ice cream

City and Mrs. Leora Jones of Mor

city recently to attend the funeral
of their aunt, Mrs. Maggie Wil
liams. While here they visited their
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. James R. Hinton, of Clayton
Road.
