Anti-Bias Committee Seeks Efforts
Os Area To Spur Youth Training
WASHINGTON. D. C— A nation
wide series of local campaigns to
stimulate the youth of minority
groups to acuqire skilled training
for the increasing variety of job
opportunities being opened to them
has been urged by the President’s
Committee on Government Con

the Minority Community Se

1 Vice President Richard Nix
on. Chairman of the President’s
Committee

The Committee has found, in Us
work for the elimination of racial
and religious discriminaiioo in
employment on work performed
under Government contract that,
the lack of qualified members of
minority groups is one of the fac
tors which retard the extension of
Equal Job Opportunity.
The Minority Community Re
sources Conference was the sec
ond of two important nations)
gatherings the Committee has
railed within a year to attack this
problem.
The first conference convened
to deal with this aspect of the eli
mination of discriminatory em
ployment practice was the Youth
Training Incentives Conference,
| held here February 4, 1957.
! At that time the Committee ir>-
| vited from 16 industrial areas 250
j people whom it believed could be
, effective in stimulating the youth
Ito aim for higher employment
| goals and to acquire the training
they would need to acnieve these
goals. Delegates from each city
