Anniversary

Kappa Alpha Sorority, the nation's
oldest and largest social Grnek
letter organisation of Negro wom
en, this week announced plans for
its 50th anniversary boule which
will be held in Washington, D. C
this summer.

Wallace of Knoxville, Term . AKA
national president who met with
other Sorority officials in the Na
tion's Capital this week included
a nine-day program which Mrs
Wallace said would be the greats ■
meeting of the 30 fidf).membei croup
since its founding in 1908

Park Hotel will be the scene of
the boute which begins, with a
meeting of regional directors
of the Sorority Saturday, Au
gust 16th, and concludes when
the directors ronvene 'igain

The first genera! session of the
boule is scheduled for Tuesday,
August 19th; however, the dii
tors of the organisation will have
put in three days of work prior to

ing of the advisory committee The
meeting will be interrupted at 4 p
m, when the three Washington
chapters of the Sorority entertain
the directors at a reception
Monday’s schedule includes a di
rectors' meeting, a luncheon hon
oring national officers and an eve
ning reception.

ond Annual Meeting of the North
Carolina Tuberculosis . Association
will be held at the Cape Fear Ho
tel on Friday and Saturday, April
25 and 26, with registration begin
ning at 9 a. rn on Friday.
Two other organizations will al
so convene at the NCTA confer
ence, and they are the Trudeau So
ciety, holding its eleventh meet
ing and the North Carolina Confer
ence of Tuberculosis Workers, hold
ing its Twelfth annual session.
