ROBERTS LEAVING SHAW Dr. James DeOtis Roberts of the Shaw Univeristy School of Relig ion, is leaving that position at the end of the current school year for similar work at Howard Universi ty, Washington, D. C. The depart ure of Dr. Roberts from Shaw will leave a big gap in Ihe School of Religion Although still a relative j iy young man. Dr. Roberts has al ready achieved a marked degree of success both as a minister and as a teacher of theology. A native of Spindale. N. C , Dr. holds degrees from J C. PLAN YWCA DAY CAMP Mrs. Thelma Anders, director of Y-Teen activities at the Sojourner Truth YWCA, announces that plans have been completed for the first annual Girls Day Camp, sponsored by the local YWCA. The Camp, to be conducted on the campus of St. Augustine’s Col lege. will begin on June 15 and continue through July 12. Girls be tween the ages of 9 and 18 are eli gible to participate in this project, Carnp activities will include: Mu sic, dancing, dramatics, arts and crafts, nature study, swimming and tours. Swimming will be held at Chav is Park's pool with regular attend ants and a camp counselor in charge of all water activities. Mrs. Anders has assembled a well-trained, experienced and en thusiastic staff to serve as counsel ors.
