Evans Lockhart, j director of the Eastern Region, j with the basileus, Soror Pauline W. j Young, presiding At the dose of the business session, there was a social period held during which time reports by Sorors Evelyn Pope and Emily M. Kelly were made on their summer experiences. Soror Pope reported highlights of a Bon Voyage party given in New Yonc City honoring the Grand Basileus of Zeta Phi Beta Sorori ty, Soror Deborrah C. Partridge who was the sole member of the lace to make a tour of Russia with a group making a study of Educa tion and Living in Russia, September hostesses* aside from Soror Lockhart were Sorors Maude Y. Evans and Catherine Winters. The many friends of Soror Lydia Wail wi'i be happy to learn that, she and her children, who are now residing in Washington, D, C. plan to spend the winter with her pa rents, Soror and Mr. Joe! THORPE A great religious feast is in store so, all who attend the old fashioned revival Services at our church for the next 2 weeks. The services are being conducted by Rev, Haro; Brownrigg. a wonder ful speaker from Washington, D. C. If you haven’t heard her, you are invited to do so. The li otloek services fin Sun i day morning were opened with the ! processional by the senior choir I using for a processional number, | “We’re Marching To Zion ” After j the singing of the doxology fol j lowed the pastoral prayer and | choral response, after which hymn j number 162, “O For A Thousand ! Tongues To Sing.’’ was sung. The responsive reading was for the 39th Sunday, “The Faith of the j Just ” Scripture lesson was then I read by Rev. Carson from the 51st : Psalm. Tne soul-stirring prayer ] was also offered by him. Our 2nd hymn number 499.. “Jesus The Name High Over All.” was sung as the congregation medi tated prayerfully. After the singing of the spiritual, “Pray For Me.” Rev. Carson presented Rev. Brown rigg who gave u.s an inspiring message. She chose her text from Jeremiah 2:82 “Can a maid forget her ornaments or a bride her at tire? Yet my people hive forgotten me. days without number.” Theme: “Has xha church forgotten God?" The minister began by saying that this was a fine time for a revival because it seems that the people have turned their backs on God. She then enlarged on the follow ing: 1. He reminds his people of their many blessings. 2. He reminds them of their sins and transgression? 3. He accuses them of choosing other Gods. It was a great message, If wp stay near God. the light of His love will reflect itself in us, and by Its help we are sole to guide others to Him.
