WALTON Pastor St. Amanda Baptist Church and McCulicrs Baptist Church JESUS’ MATCHLESS ROWER The general lesson is found in St. Mark 4: 35-51:43, and the printed text, is found in St. Mark 5:1-13, This lesson Is concerned with a man in a miserable condition; he was under the power of an un clean spirit and was raving mad as he dwelt among the tombs out side the ei: v limit. He was so un 'f rs nily that no man • could bind him «S V xtj and this was a r tenor and ter ; torment to him •.' ! : • i InHn j about him. t : W h o n the I man saw Christ |H§. tBHF H'. i| afar off, coming P|J hi :'- I ashore, he ran ! jJ ind worshipped T., .; Christ knowing j -V. WALTON that he was possessed with unclean spirits. Jesus commanded tire spirits to come out of the man in order that that the Holy Spirit could, lake possession of his heart and have dominion. In our country and world today, many men are possessed with un clean spirits of hate, deceit, and drunkenness which cause them to live in a world to themselves and people about them. No man can love his fellowmen or come out of the path of uncleaness or drunk enness without the Holy Spirit in his heart to guide him and have dominion because God does not dwell in any unclean temple. The intention of all unclean j spirits is to destroy mankind, bo dy and soul. This lesson warns us to flee to that refuge which God ha prepared for all of the believ ers in the Kingdom of Jesus MAKE EXTRA MONEY SELL —The— Carolinian Your own state newspaper, with news of your community while it is still news. WILSON TEMPLE METHO IDIST Church School started Christ, Unconverted sinners are under a more fatal possession. Then that which destroys and dis tract men and destroy their health, because their souls are lost. If a man fails to save his body from disease, then he suf fers. But we are sure that Christ will save his soul if he so desires it. Not only will God save his soul but He will destroy his unclean spirits of hate, deceit, and drunk enness and give him a loving and peaceful heart toward all men. Frequently, we see or hear of persons carried away by their own possessions. Satan, the tempter, drives them into pollution and iniquity so that they dwell among those whose feet go down to death and whose steps take hold of hell. Neither fear, conscience, nor re gard of interest and health, can restrain them. In this way man drives himself to penury, disease, prison, or death. In the meantime, he does not reproach their friends He becomes the terror and nui sance of*the community. Yet if Jesus be pleased to exert his power, tie can bring the most abandoned of them to fall down before Him. He will effect a bles sing by changing character and conduct. Therefore it becomes our duty as Christians to so love and respect all mankind in order to help Christ destroy evil spirits ot all kinds i nthe hearts of men. We must pray continuously that Christ may be pleased to exert hi; power to drive the unclean spirits of prejudice, racial hate, discri mination, and drunkenness out of the hearts of men.
