One hundred fifity Ba silei, graduate advisors, other offi cer and members representing 43 chapters in Virginia, West Virgin ia and North Carolina attended. Ze ta Pi Omega and Delta Alpha Chap ters of Fayetteville under the ledership of Soror Margaret Spivey and Soror Eamestlne Thompaon were hostess chapters. Soror Lucille Piggott, Regional Director of Greensboro, was in charge of the one day conference. In introducing the theme, "Streng thening From Within.” Soror Pig gott emphasized that in order to strengthen the componenet parts of any organization, there must be an earnest attempt to strengthen the very source of the orgsnization's energy the individual member Soror Piggott stressed the need for new strategies for leaden of Alpha Kappa Alpha to give chspten the necessary vitality which automatic ally comes from active Interesting programs and emphasize continual building of the concept of sister hood, the fulfillment of the indi vidual members, service to the com munity and lively whole-hearted support of the undergraduates thr hope of our future. The day's activities were con cluded with a reception in honor of Soror Piggott at the home of Soror Mary T.
