Says Son, 4, Who Killed His Father
LOS ANGELES (ANP)-As a re
sult of a domestic quarrel and |
separation of a Los Angeles couple, 1
the father is dead by his young
son’s hand and a tiny little boy is
sadder and wiser.
Leonard Thierry, 82, succumbed
to a bullet wound in his forehead
24 hours after ordering his 4-year
old son, Glen, to shoot him. A few
minutes before the incident, Thier
ry had attempted to get his daught
er, Theresah, 7, and his older son,
Gary, 5, to fire the gun. Both re
fused.
The younger son, fearful that
his father might punish him,
shot him with a 22-caliber re
volver. “Daddy aaid he’d get
the belt and beat me If I
didn't,” Glen told officers at the

Thierry, a baker, waa describ
ed as a heavy drinker by bla

house the previous day after a
violent family quarrel. The vic

over her absence. Mrs. Thierry

Fayetteville State College recently.
The speaker brought the largest
audience for commencement exer
cises that the college has witnessed

Golden reviewed tersely and elo
quently the achievements and im
pact of the Negro Revolution. He
further stated that the Negro's
chance resides in a literal flood to
.•schools and colleges. Furthermore,
he stated that America is s market
place of ideas. The Negro must
make his voice be heard and exer
cise his vote.
