Leonard Thierry, 82, succumbed to a bullet wound in his forehead 24 hours after ordering his 4-year old son, Glen, to shoot him. A few minutes before the incident, Thier ry had attempted to get his daught er, Theresah, 7, and his older son, Gary, 5, to fire the gun. Both re fused. The younger son, fearful that his father might punish him, shot him with a 22-caliber re volver. “Daddy aaid he’d get the belt and beat me If I didn't,” Glen told officers at the seen*. Thierry, a baker, waa describ ed as a heavy drinker by bla wife, Mary, who had left the house the previous day after a violent family quarrel. The vic tim waa apparently despondent over her absence.
