C., SATURDAY, NOVEMBER U, 18M 600 Students To Attend State Drama Clinic At FSC Many Teachers Will Bring Hi Schoolers FAYETTEVILLE The 1864 An nual Drama Clinic.* which is usually hald each school year in February, has been scheduled this year lor Saturday, December 5. at Fayette ville State College. Fayetteville State College and the North Caro lina High School Drama Associa tion have announced that six-hun dred students and teachers of East ern Carolina are expected to attend, the Drama Clinic is underwritten by the North Carolina Teachers As sociation. The Drama Clinic will consist of three main sessions. Hie morning session will involve and presentations of papers on dra matics. The afternoon session will be centered around two one-act plays for analysis by Mary Potter High School, Oxford; and Sampson County High School of Clinton. Pi*.*’ gsh United Presbyterian Church Men's Council had as guest speaker Sunday Elder Charles Stanley (Chuck) Ecker. Eastern Area Di rector. Commission of Evangelism. United Presbyterian Church USA, who spoke as a layman viewing the need for more concern about evan gelistic work on the part of the laity in redeeming some three hun dred ten thousand (310,000) mem bers lost from Presbyterian rolls through suspension during the past ten years. Eckers. who gave us his automo tive business to work or the Church as a salesman for evangelism to inspire churchmen to wtn others for Christ, noted that where len members have been recruited six have strayed away from the church over a ten-year period. After nearly four years at this work .Ecker sees the need for more dedication on the part of laymen without leaving the major task to the minister and few kindly elderly women of the church to recruit members and try to interest those who join.
