The official canvass of the Nov. 2 general election showed President Truman de feated Thomas E. Dewey by 200,543 votes in North Carolina. The State Board of Elections met to certify th Nov. 2 returns. Its canvass showed that Presi dent Truman received 450,070 Tar Heel votes, Dewey 258,572, J. Storm Thurmond 69,652, and Henry Wallace 3,915. The Elections Board also adopt ed a resolution, on the recom mendation of Chairman Hubert F.
