Mr. Hares Improves
Latest reports are that Mr.
Henry C. Hayes is much improv
ed after suffering a heart attack
last week. Mr. Hayes has been in
ill health for several years. He is
one of Blowing Rock's pioneer
men in the business field, having
established Hayes' General Store
many years ago and maintained
the same store until his health
forced him to give it up .but a few
years ago. He has also been the
Chamber of Commerce official
"weather man" for a long time,
the temperature reading being
giVen each day by him far their
publication. -
Father Of Dr. Davani Dies
Mr. Charles Davaht of Augusta,
Ga? father of our local phy ician,
Dr. Charles Davant, Jr.. died ;n
? hospital in Augusta last Satur
day night, after an illness of sev
eral weeks.
Funeral services were held
there on Monday. Several Blow
ing Rock men attended, including
R. B. Hardin, George Sudderth,
Jr., Larry Harris, and Rev. Tho
mas Seitz.

Mr. Jim Hodge is a patient at
Baptist Hospital in Winston
Salem where he was taken last
week for observation and treat
ment.
