Family Fish Pond Said To Be Good Investment By H. J. WILLIAMS At this KHon of the year there to always considerable interest fai building fish ponds in the county. A fish pood when properly built, properly stocked, and properly managed is a source of pleasure to the (arm family. A good fish pond provides recreation for the family and food for the table. A pond improperly built or managed is usually a waste of a considerable sum of money and extra trouble to the farmer. The first problem in building a farm pood is to locate as ul table site. A good site must have the proper amount of water to main tain the pond, and a type of soil that will hold water when the pond ia completed. Much of the soil in the Watauga Soil Conaer vation District ia unaatiafactory for impounding water. Even with the better types of aoil itricteat care muat be taken in building a pond to prevent aeepage. Upon request by the farmer, local Soil Conaervation Service personnel are available to aaaiat the farmer in choosing a Qpnd site, staking out the dam, and helping to supervise construction. i Recent rr ports from United States soybean producers indi cate they expect t* harvest 289, 000 acres of the crop thia year. Rev! Mr. Whitman rules out Bible prophechy as "mere guess work" or "chance" and declares that God's prophetic word is sure that it came not in old time by the will of man but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Citing the foundation of Christ's great fore view of world events in the testi mony of scriptures, science, and history, he shows that we are now under the cycle of World Wars, its exact correspondence to what Christ said, and accord ingly what we are to expect as certainly coming upon the earth. Thousands of people have listen ed with rapt attention to this champion of prophetic research and have said, "It makes our mother's dear old Bible, dearer than ever." The public is cordial ly invited. A leading Polish composer and contributor, AndrzeJ Panufnik, has fled to Britain, where he is seeking asylum. Army security risk rules are found to be Improved.
