Problem Areas Cut Farm Profits Now it a good time for farmers to find out what'a wrong with problem area» in their field* which reduce production and eat into profit*. Thil advice waa given by County Agent L. E. Tuckwiller, who pointed out that auch problem qreaa should be identified and corrected soon after abnormal symptoms appear. "It ia not always possible to f(nd the trouble," Tuckwiller said, "but frequently it can be traced at some deficiency or inbalance of plant nutrients, to a disease problem, or to a combination of tfrese and other factors." The county agent suggested the fpllowiqg procedure aa • meats of solving the problem of weak spots. 1. Take a composite soil sample from several places in the area of abnormal growth, no matter how small. 2. Take a second composite sample representative of areas of normal growth in the same field. 3. Pill out Soil Sampling Information Sheet as compleetly as possible, describing the abnormal appearance and growth of plants.
