Dies In Tennessee
James H. Trivett. 78, ■ retired
mail carrier af Piney Flata, Tana.,
and a former resident of Vila*,
died June 10 la the Memorial Hos
pital in Johnson City, Tenn.
Funeral services were conduct
ed at the Union Church in Piney
Flats June IS and burial «u la
the church cemetery.
Me is survived by two sons,
Earl and Claud Trivett, three
daughters, Mr*. Wilbur Smalling.
Mrs. Don King and Mrs. Gene
Torbett, all of Piney Flats, eleven
(rand children. Also surviving are
four brothers, W. L. Trivett of
Boone, G. A. Trivett, Limestone,
Tenn., G. M. Trivett. St. Peters
burg, Fla., Joseph 11. Trivett, John
son City, Tenn., four sisters, Mrs.
N. S. Baird. Bluff City, Tenn., Mrs.
W. R. Brewer and Mrs. M. C.
Hollar of Boone, Mrs. W. B. Cook.
Lenoir N. C. and a number of
neices and nephews.

Notice to fsrmers w.io sold
wool in the 1857 Wool Pool. The
wool bags that were supposed to
be receive in exchange for those
taken in the pool have been re
ceived at the County Farm Agents
office. All farmers who are to get
one of these bags is requested to
do so as soon as possible as we do
not have sufficient storage space
for them.

'Fashions In Flowers' Theme Of
Boone Flower Show July 11-12
Boone's 1957 Flower Show,
July 11-12, ii eagerly anticipated
by flower grower* and lovers
throughout this area. An affair of
great interest for exhibitors and
visitors alike, this annual show
presents speciments of the many
beautiful flowers which are grown
by local gardeners. Exhibits this
year will be arranged to develop
the theme "Fashions in Flowers."
The following rules have been
compiled by the sponsors and will
be of interest to all exhibitors.
Competition is open to any non
professional gardener in the Ap
palachian area.
Plants on the State Conserva
tion List may not be used in de
sign.
Containers and accessories en
tered at owner's risk. All should
be marked with owner's name.
Judging will be according to
National Council Standards. Jud
ges' decisions will be final.
Plant materials for arrange
ments may be obtained from any
source, but arrangements must be
made by exhibitor.
After entry has been accepted,
exhibitor must provide a substi
tute if she is unable to exhibit in
closed classes.
Clipped foliage is permitted,
but no artificial grooming such as
tinting or painting will be allow
ed.
If all plant material used in an
arrangement has been grown by
the exhibitor, a gold star will be
placed on entry card.
Entries will be accepted as fol
lows:
Potted plants: July 10, 3:30-4:30
p. m All other exhibits: July 11,
7:30-11:00 a. m. Exhibits register^
ed after 11:00'a. m. will be non
competitive. Exhibits should be
removed after 8:00 p. m July 12
and must be removed by 8:30 a.
m. July 13. Flower show dis
mantling committee cannot be re
sponsible for items left in hall
after this ime.

design to be staged in pale pink
slant-back boxes 24" high x 20"

Easter Elegance (6)—A massed
line design dramatizing lilies.
(Any color) Other flowers may be
used but lilies must predominate.
Pale, green niche same size as
No. 1.
Lovely Lingerie—Design with
pink or white flowers predomi
nating. Overall height 12-16".
White corrugated paper niche.
