Chief Farthing will report to the USS Albemarle at Phildelphia Naval Shipyard this week for duty. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Shepherd and daughter, Clara Mae, spent the week end with Mr. and Mra. John Shepherd of Norfolk, Vir ginia. While they were there, they witneased the International Naval Review of fourteen nations of the NATO organization. Visits were made to the Norfolk Naval Air Base and the naval base where all these ships were anchored. Some of the ships they visited were the naval aircraft carrier, the USS Saratoga, the British carrier, Roy al Ark, the Spanish sailing vessel, Don Juan, the USS Battleship t Iowa and otiMra Tfcey also viewed Um naval ptndc of all the* na tion* on Saturday. I Luncheon Honors Miss Peggy Curtin Miss Peggy Curtin, daughter of Mr. John Curtin of New York, who is the bride-elect of Jerry White, son of Mr. and Mrs. George White of Boone, was honored at a luncheon given by Mrs. L. H. Owsley at the Daniel Boone Hotel on Thursday. The centerpiece was a lovely ar rangement of pale pink carnations and baby breath in a silver con tainer. Places for the guests were marked with pink bridal place cards and favors. Miss Curtin wore a frock of white satin-finished cotton em brodiered with tiny pink flowers. Her corsage waa of white carna tions tied with pink net and rib bons. She waa presented a gift of linen. Guests were Misses Peggy Cur tin. Mary Louise and Eileen White, Betty Cooke, Sue and Joyce Littleton, Joyce Tuckwiller, Pat Brady, Cindy Klutz and Mrs. George White and Mrs. Joe Brady. Richard Olsen gave a pro ject leader* report on Home Beuutiftcation, and Mrs. Hobby presented the Home Gardens re port. The demonstration, "Access ories (or the Hone", was given by the Home Agent. During the social hour, a cor sage and gift waa presented to Mrs. John Greene, a recent bride. Miss Emma Taylor and Mrs. Sue Murry served from a beautifully appointed tea table.
