Recently Kings X sent a Maidenhair Spleen wort to Doan Ogden, the landscape architect in Asheville, who lacked that plant in his wild garden, and is ? good friend to King's X. Mr. Ogden came to Boone a few weeks ago to talk abort the Daniel Bowie Wild Flower Garden. King's X b. presenting the Daniel Boone Garden with a Showy Orchid which may prove to be the first wild flower planted there. Mr. Chase's friends, and others interested, are invited to come to King's X any Sunday this sum mer. However, Mr. Chase will be gone from Sunday, July 10 until Sunday, July 84 when he returns from the Craft Fair in Asheville. Dimmette at her summer home in Echo Park for the purpose of organizing a Blowing Rock Gar den Club June 20th. Mrs. B. W. Stallings of Boone, the District Di rector, was present to help organ ize the club. Officers were elected as follows: Mrs. T. R. Snyder, president; Mn. Robert Haixiin, vice president; Mrs. R. H. Reed and Mrs. Everett Widener co-secretary and treasur er. At the close of the meeting Mrs. Dimmette served tea, assist ed "by tier three lovely daughters. The Garden Club will meet in the library assembly room Tues day, July lfch 'at 10:30 a. m. There will be a short program on the groarth and care of the three varieties of rhododendron found in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Mrs. J. V. Thomas of Winston-Salem and Blowing Rock, will give k talk on flower arranging and equip ment. She will also give a demon stration of arranging rhododen dron.
