Christmas Eve and Christaus vera spent in historic Abing don. A beautiful service held at midnight in St Thomas Episcopal CJiureh remindod then of Christmas in English village churches. The service was entirely by candlelight. Gariands of pine, white cand les, and red and white satin bows deaarated the church. Christmas Day dinner was a traditional southern one at Martha Washington Inn core plete with spoonbread and oider. The weather cooperated com pletely by blanketing the Vir ginia countryside in deep glist ening anew. The Davidsons re turned to Boone to spend a few d ays and to visit the 8ki Lodge before proceeding to Savannah, Georgia. Watauga county veterans service officer, that the annual income question naires received with their De cember check must lie complet ed and returned to the Veter ans Administration before Jan uary 31, 1963, to avoid suspen sion of payment.
