The building has approximately
4500 square laat o f spate aad
will contain permanent office
space and storing areas for the
administration of the Girl Scout
program for the eight-county
area served by the council. Mr.
Philippe GflTissen, architect, was
emplaned to draw plans for
reno itions ta the building with
work to begin immediately. It
ia expected that the building
will be ready for occupancy in
a few months.
Mrs. E. t. Bounous, council
president, announced the em
ployment of Mrs. Howard Gra
ham. wha has joined the clerical
staff in the council office. Mrs.
Graham, a ' former volunteer
i worker in the Girl Scout pro
gram, has been a troop leader,
Neighborhood Chairman and
Bbard member and is experi
enced in many phases of the
Girl Scout program and opera
tion of the council.
A retirement plan far employ
ed staff was aproved by the
Board to be incorporated into
the ceuncil plan for 1963. A
participating plan of the Na
tional Health and Welfare Re
tirement Association, approved
br the Girl Scout* of the USA,
it is scheduled to become ef
fective July 1, IMS.
The UBS Cookie Sale plan
was reviewed and the immedi
ate camping needs were di?
cassed by members of the camp
committee. The profits from the
COokie Sale are the council's
ealy means for financing capi
tal improvements and extending
camping facilities to more girls.
The camp committee is suggest
ing that each fir! sell at least
two Cartons of cookies this year
to help defray the costs ef pre
paring the, established camp
site for use this summer. The
sale will begin on February' 29,
