Watauga 4-H Leaders Back
From Meeting At Fontana
Two Watauga county senior i
4-H Club members returned
from Fontana Village, late last
week with a greater apprecia
tion for the resources of the
Tennessee Valley.
They also returned with the
determination to develop these
resources through their 4-H
cjub work .. ,

Bethel were among 303 ?lub
members and leaders attending
the Eighth Annual Regional
Resource Development Confer
ence.
The heart of the program was
small group study of the re
sources of the Tennessee Val
ley. With other delegates,
Gerldine and Byron took a close
look at the atmosphere, soils,
minerals, forests, wildlife, wat
er and human resources of the
area.
Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky,
Mississippi, North Carolina,
Tennessee and Virginia were re
sponsible for program material
in one resource area. Discussion
leaders were men backed by
years of training and exper
ience, and the 4-H boys and
