Saturday, July 6, in the First Presbyiterian Churcb. The Rev. J. K. Parker, Jr., performed the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silk-faced peau de soi and chan tilly lace extending into a cha pel train. The gown was fash ioned with lace sleeves, the bo dice was covered with re-em broidered chantilly lace and seed pearls. A tiara of pearls caught her fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and baby's breath. Hiss Mary A. Hartley of Boone was maid of honor. Hiss Jo Nell Goodson of Linville, Mrs. Betty Swift Sluder of Boone, and Mri. Charlotte Bak er Griffin of Lenoir were bridesmaids. They wore pink organza over taffeta. Hiss Shirly Lynn Cornett, the brids't sister, and Becky Cornett were flower girls. Craig Cornett of Melvin, Pa., wis ring bearer. Tommy Hayes of North Wilkeshoro was best man. Ush ers were Tommy Queiry of Le noir, Dicky Welborn of North Wilkesboro and Bill Baker of Lenoir. Music was presented by Mrs. Jimmy South, and soloist Ann West Cook sang "O Perfect Love" and the "Lord'i Prayer." A reception was held follow ing the ?eremony in Fellowship Hall at the church. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gragg and Miss Margaret Gragg spent last week vacationing at Wrightsville Beach and Wilm ington. Enroute home they spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gragg in James town, S. C. Miss O'Daniel Recent Bride Mr. James Sydney O'Daniel, Sr. announce* the marriage of hi* lifter, Miss Lore* Virginia O'Daniel, to Mr. Olin Parks Hutchison, Jr. on Saturday, the fifteenth of June, 1863 at the Methodist Parsonage in York, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison are living at 2421 Kcnmore Ave. in Charlotte. Woman's Club Meets Tonight The general meeting of the Worthwhile Woman's Club of Boone will meet in the Adult Assembly room of the Metho dist Church Thursday evening at 7:30. Mrs. Homer Brown will show slides of the Wagon Train at Cook's Gap and the parade in Boone. Mrs. E. L. Ray is chairman of the hostess com mittee. Blue Ridge Garden Club The Blue Ridge Garden Club met at 12 noon on July 17 in the Adult Assembly Room of the Boone Methodist Church. Mrs. Paul Coffey, Mn. D. L. Wilcox, and Mrs. E. S. Quails were hostesses. Sixteen mem bers and one visiter, Mrs. Ruth Robinson of Charlotte, were present. After the luncheon, Mrs. W. H. Plemm*ns, president, con ducted the business meeting during which plans for the com ing flower show and home tour on August 8, were discussed, and tickets were distributed for sale, Mrs. James Councill gave the monthly study on the conserva tion of birds. Mrs. J. C. Cline and Mrs. R. W. Watkins pre sented a program on Japanese arrangements, part of which was a display of arrangements brought by club members. Mrs. B. W. S tailings and Mrs. Lee Reynolds served as Judges. Mrs. Watkins gave the history and chief characteristics of Japan ese flower art, and Mrs. Cline conducted a contest in arrang ing in the Japanese manner. Mrs. Paul Coffey was the win ner.
