The Board of County Commissioners have the authority to raise taxes in
sufficient amount to provide for the needs of the county. Paragraph 115-129,
PUBLIC SCHOOL LAWS OF NORTH CAROLINA, states . . , "The Board
of Commissioners shall be given a reasonable time to provide the funds
which they, upon investigation, shall find to be necessary for providing
their respective units with buildings suitably equipped, and it shall be the
duty of the several boards of county commissioners to provide funds for
the same."

In view of the expanding economy in this county, we see an urgent need

course, available to our high school students and also to establish adult
classed in the evening for those needing to learn a trade or who may want
to become more proficient in the work they are doing.
