Kuykendall assumed the position as State Conservationist with the Soil Conservation Service In North Carolina. He replace^ Mr. R. M. Daily who has been trans ferred to Washington as Assistant Deputy Administrator for Water sheds. Mr. Knykendall was bom on a Hampshire County, W. Va., farm. He graduated from the Univer sity of West Virginia in 1933 with ? US degree in Agriculture. He received an MS degree in Nbiic Administration from the Univer sity of Colorado in 1981.
