the theme "Keeping Christ in
Christmas." The displays will be
judged and awards* given. The

effort. Outdoor manger
will also be eocouraged.

The Merchants Association com
mittee has been named for this
season and coming year. They
are Dennis Greene, chairmen;
Phil Vance, Glenn R Andrews,
S. M Ayers, A. E. McCreary,
O. K. Richardson, Ned Trivette,
and Vaughn Roten.
This committee immediately
began some very worthwhile pro
jects. See story elsewhere in the
issue lor details. We are very
grateful to these fine men for
being willing to give of their
time to make our city a better
place to shop and do business in.
Are* Zoning Committee
An area zoning committee has
been named to work with the
County Commissioners, and any
other authorities, so that the im
mediate area around Boone may
be properly zoned to control fu
ture building of residences end
business places. The committee

Lee Reynolds. We consider tills
? very important project so as
to protect everyone concerned.
Farm-City Meeting
The national Farm-City week
wfll be observed by all our vari
ous organisations Thursday even
ing at 6:30 at tiie Cove Creek
'High School. Officers of the
Chamber and Merchants Associa
tion, as well as officers of our
Community Clubs over the county,
will be installed. This is an im
iportant get-together by the town
and county citizens and is a real

Directors October 28 declared
a regular quarterly dividend of
10 cents per share, a year-end
extra of 5 cents and a special
distribution of 2 percent in
stock.
Both the quarterly and year
end cash disbursements will be
paid November 29 to stockhold
ers of record November IB.
These bring IRC's total 1063
cash payments to 49 cents, the
same amount that was paid in
1962.
The stock distribution will be
made December 20 to holders
of record November 18.
