Why does it suddenly change direction, or speed up its forward motion? Unfortunately, the answers to these questions are not yet ■mown, although there are va rious theories about why hur ricanes do what they do. Whet is known Is that hurricanes al ways more to the north, and eranhially, to the seat. In this latitude. They travel slowly, but they, sometimes pick up speed and travel as fast as thirty mOes an hour. OfUn, though, they Crawl at five miles per hour and seem to be pondering what dU reedon to taka. Why they change direction suddenly is not finally established. However, they do follow toe Hoe at least resistance and If you are in a Ugh prasauresys toaa.whan a hurricane nears your arse It will probably de tour around you. A hurricane Knelt la a low pressure area. Finally, do not taka anyone’s advice, even toe weather bu reau forecasts, as gospel—when it eouHS to hurricanes. They are atpgedietatie storms.
