The proleet Is one of two new programs being carried out by the league this fall. Under current study is a project on the nation's Elec toral College. The project Is being directed by Mrs. A. M, Denton and Mrs. Frank Stekel. At their meeting this week, the league will take a member poll on the method of electing the President. Throe members of the league, Mrs. Dan Duke, Mrs, Kenneth Webb and Mrs. Robert Nlcklin, recently attended a meeting of the Hickory league at which U, S, Rep. James BroyMll spoke. He explained his vote against the Federal Aid to Education pro gram on the grounds that the money was not available. He said he felt that emphasis should be placed on balancing the bud get Mrs. Stekel attended the meeting of the Southeastern Re gional Conference of the League in Atlanta last month. He is pastor of Gospel Baptist Church in Roanoke and a part time employee of A & P. After a reception at the Vin ton War Memorial, Vinton, the couple left for a northern wed ding trip. They will live In Lynchburg for a short period before leaving for Mexico where they will be missionaries. Kephart and Miss Margaret Kephart spent four days last week In Greensboro, the occasion for their trip being a celebration of the forty-fifth anniversary of the founding of the University Faculty Wires Club of which Mrs. Kephart was president at one time. A reception was held in honor of the past presidents of the club, with a photographer present to take pictures of these women. They were given cor sages and after the regular pro gram, there was a social hour with refreshments and a chance to get acquainted with former faculty wives. During their short stay in Greensboro, the Kepharts were entertained several times a day by friends at luncheons and dinners.
