DIME SOCIETY MEETS The Dime Society of the Edenton Baptist Church met Tuesday evening with Mrs. C. T. Doughtie. The presi dent presided over the business ses sion, calling for reports from the various officers. After routine busi ness was disposed of, new business was taken up. In the neighborhood of 75 friends called during the evening. M. Jethro, 76, Passes Away At Son’s Home M. Jethro, aged 76, died at the home of his son, D. L. Jethro, in the Yeopim Section of Chowan County last Thursday. Deceased had been sick only about two weeks. He was a native of Washington County, l coming to Chowan in 1900. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zin thia Jethro; and the following chil dren, Mrs. H. I. Jordan, of Suffolk, Va.; J. W. and D. L. Jethro and Miss Elizabeth Jethro, of Chowan County. Ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held at the Quinn Funeral Home Friday after noon at 2:30 o’clock, and interment was made in Beaver Hill Cemetery. (2) Number of horses, mules, cows, sows, ewes and hens on farm January, 1942. (3) Number of people living on farm January, 1942. (4) Number of threshing ma chines, combines, peanut pickers, farm tractors and farm trucks. All of the above informa tion furnished will be considered as confidential and will not be used in any manner that is detrimental to the farmers concerned. It is not used for tax purposes.
